The Beach Teaches Us…

Today I sit on a beach in Sanibel, Florida…the same beach just one year ago we brought our oldest daughter to hoping her “happy place” might bring her (still undiagnosed) panic disorder some reprieve.  I recall pacing on this very beach just 365 days earlier begging her mental health providers on the phone for help and clarity…something to help rationalize the terrifying turn of events in our life. 

Then and now…

The beach teaches that just because you can’t see the sun in your life, it is still there. You must take it on faith. Each sunrise represents a fresh start and a new opportunity - to conceive and pursue a dream, to help someone or to reach out for help.
